Due to the COVID-19 pandemic many individuals have been experiencing enormous levels of stress and anxiety. Further, due to loss of loved ones or having contracted the virus individuals are experiencing waves of sadness, fear, grief and loss.

It is of utmost importance for an organisation or an individual to focus on their mental, physical and emotional health and wellbeing. Failing to do so leads to further stress, anxiety, depression, ill health and challenges that impact on other areas of an individuals life.

Organisations that are forward thinking and display empathy towards their staff undertake the process to implement employee wellness programmes to enable employees to overcome mental and physical health related challenges.

The organisation needs to drive these programmes in line with their strategic HR and people development strategy. They can offer employees support through counselling, workshops, training and webinars.

The objective of the programmes will equip staff to positively manage or overcome wellbeing challenges, which will enable staff to feel more valued by the organisation and focussed in terms of their work.
